Pilates
Pilates is an exercise based on physical therapy, treating the whole body with a particular focus on posture and core strength. Movements are low impact, but challenging, and create a body balanced in strength, mobility and flexibility. It is suitable for both men and women, of all ages, for beginners, pro-athletes and pregnant mothers.
Some major benefits of Pilates include: Muscle definition (Lifted and tight glutes) Improved posture Increased flexibility Reduced stress.

Barre
Barre is an energetic, isometric strength workout, that uses a combination of postures inspired by pilates, yoga and ballet. The workout utilises the barre, free weights, bands, small balls and mats to name a few.

Yoga
There are weekly hour long Vinyasa Flow Yoga class at the studio. During this class, you will learn to coordinate movement with breath and flow from one yoga pose to the next.

About

Fiona Barford
Fiona, founder of Breath Barre and qualified BASI Pilates and BootyBarre trainer, has a passion for movement and for her clients. She uses movement as a tool to help heal and improve her client’s lives and overall wellbeing.

Cat Swart
Cat, our resident studio dancer, has completed all RAD & AIDT Tap and Modern exams, and is trained in contemporary, jazz, African, Spanish, and ballet. When Cat
isn’t showing the world her moves, she’s at the studio teaching us her barre moves.

Karen Purdon
Karen, qualified ballet teacher, Pilates instructor and personal trainer, is our world traveler, having travelled half of the world and teaching wherever she found herself. Karen specialises in movement, mobility and injury rehabilitation.

Laura Barford
Laura, our studio yogi, completed her Vinyasa RYT200 teacher training in 2019. Her approach to yoga focuses on the balance between strength and flexibility, exertion and release. You can expect to move, sweat and breathe in her classes.

Caleigh Valjalo
Fluent in both English and Sarcasm, Caleigh runs Breathe Barre’s social media. Although she isn’t a certified instructor, she makes sure she exercises her right to free speech online and always ensures that our clients are up to date with the studio’s latest news, promotions and exciting events..
